The Cultural Arts Playhouse in Plainview will perform Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer-prize-winning Broadway musical "Rent." The musical, which is loosely based on the Puccini opera "La Bohème, follows a year in the lives of seven friends living a Bohemian lifestyle. The Playhouse is located at 625 Old Country Rd in Plainview.
Performances: Jan. 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, Feb. 4, 5. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m.; Sunday performances begin at 7 p.m. Performances on Sun. Jan. 30 at 3 and 7 p.m.
