Les Misérables in Concert - The 25th Anniversary Event in Five Theaters across LI

Les Misérables, the longest-running musical of all time,  commemorates its 25th anniversary with a big screen tribute concert event that is scheduled to be screened in nearly 500 cinemas nationwide. Five theatres on Long Island will participate in this special one-night, in-theatre event, with the closest to our area being the Regal Westbury Stadium at 7000 Brush Hollow Rd. The screening will take place at 7:30 p.m. Other LI locations are National Amusement Farmingdale Multiplex Cinemas, National Amusement Island 16 Cinema de Lux in Holtsville, Clearview Cinema Port Washington, and Regal East Hampton Cinema.

Les Misérables in Concert – The 25th Event, features more than 500 actors and musicians including Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Nick Jonas as Marius, Norm Lewis as Javert, Matt Lucas as Thénardier, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Jenny Galloway as Madame Thénardier and Katie Hall as Cosette. Les Misérables has been seen by nearly 60 million people worldwide in 42 countries and 21 languages and is the third longest running show on Broadway after The Phantom of the Opera and Cats.

First produced in 1985 at London's Barbican Centre and based on the novel by Victor Hugo, the musical Les Misérables follows  characters as they struggle for redemption and revolution in early 19th century France. In 1987, it was nominated for 12 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
