Screening and Panel Discussion for “Rebirth”

Hofstra University will be holding a screening and panel discussion on Jun. 10 at 7 p.m. on Rebirth, which is a documentary that follows five people who deal with the aftermath of Sept. 11. The film debuted at Sundance Film Festival during last winter and the screening will take place in the Helene Fortunoff Theater.

The documentary utilizes time lapse footage from cameras above Ground Zero. These show the physical and emotional stress that people powered through after the most “lethal attack in US history,” according to a release from the school. The screening will include wine and hors d’oeuvres, as well as a panel discussion led by Andrew Malekoff, Executive Director/CEO of North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center in Roslyn. Panelists will include Judy Esposito, Assistant Director for Emergency Services at Stony Brook University’s Counseling and Psychological Services Unit, and Caitlin Olson and Donna Gaffney of Project Rebirth.

Admission for this event is $50 per person. Ticket information is available at: northshorechildguidance.org/events.html.
