During the fall 2015 fashion shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris, the accessories caught the industry’s attention and really stood out. Here’s a glimpse at what will be hot in jewelry and accessories this fall, courtesy of Vogue.com.

According to Vogue, this fall is going to be all about jewelry pieces that are a little bit eccentric yet wonderful. “From ladylike bags in surreal colors to statement accessories that will stand out in a crowd, there’s something a little off-kilter for everyone, and even the most trend-wary shoppers will find something new that catches their eye.”

This Fall — All About the Details

The general concept for this fall is beauty in details. Vogue reports that from Prada to Balenciaga, from Chanel to Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana, the emphasis on the runways was on all things shiny, pretty, and easily pinned. Whether onto an elegant twisted updo or a party frock, look for a brilliant new brooch to add some sparkle to your evening attire, or even an office blazer.

Call of the wild. Nature-inspired jewelry has long been a favorite of animal lovers and those with more exotic tastes. This season’s designers proved exceptionally animalistic incorporating bird, insect, fish, reptile and plant motifs, creating whimsical fine jewelry pieces depicting Mother Earth’s living treasures.

Collar necklaces. From feminine filigree styles to bold Art Deco-inspired pieces, a dramatic collar necklace will add some drama to your neckline this fall. Wear it to complement off-the-shoulder fashion styles.

The future is now. The sci-fi look is in. Channel your inner Princess Leia with a diamond or other gemstone ring or brooch that goes beyond the classic designs with a modern, angular aesthetic.

Marquis cuts updated. For those getting engaged this fall, consider a marquise cut diamond, which was the engagement ring diamond shape of choice during the 80s. Later considered passé, it’s been reimagined by a crop of today’s jewelry designers, making the marquise shape new again.

Mix and match gem pieces. Mixing multiple gemstone cuts into a single piece — once considered taboo in the world of fine jewelry — is now catching on among designers. Often placed in an almost haphazard arrangement, the result looks fresh and modern.

Pearls get a facelift.Once a staple exclusive to the country club set, pearls have gotten a facelift (literally) at summer fashion shows like Givenchy, where models’ faces featured pearls from seemingly every plane; Chanel looped pearls over sheer, bow-tied blouses; Dolce & Gabbana added pearls to demure updos; and Stella McCartney twisted rows of pearls into contorted whirls, primed for takeoff.

Single earrings are in. It looks like the single earring trend of seasons past will continue into this fall — good news for those who tend to lose an earring. J.W.Anderson rocked the look with mismatched eighties club-kid styles; Gucci boasted glittering and shoulder-dusting length earrings; while Givenchy’s large and bold styles seemed to cover almost every inch of the ear — and face.
