Harbor Child Care receives NYS 2021 Empire Award
Harbor Child Care was delighted to have been chosen as a New York State Empire Award Honoree for its work with children across Nassau County

Harbor Child Care was delighted to have been chosen as a New York State Empire Award Honoree for its work with children. This award recognizes the achievements of residents and businesses that have made a significant impact on their communities. Our organization was submitted and selected by New York State Senator Kevin Thomas of the 6th Senate District.
We received the award at the Annual Community Awards Night celebration on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Nassau Community College. It was an honor to be part of this event and among fellow business owners and community leaders that make Long Island strong! Accepting the award is Florence Barbour, Executive Director of Harbor Child Care.
Harbor Child Care has been offering a unique child care program for nearly 50 years. Since its inception as a not-for-profit child care service, we believe over 20,000 children have experienced the warm, kind, and intelligent care and education in our early childhood, school-age, and summer programs. We offer an educational environment, as well as nutritious meals, medical oversight, an outdoor play space, and a curriculum that ensures children receive an educational benefit that readies them for kindergarten and beyond.
