Man Arrested, Accused Of Stealing From Seaford Church: PD

Police say the man removed sacramental items from the altar.

SEAFORD, NY — A Deer Park man was arrested on charges related to grand larceny inside a Seaford church, police said.

According to Nassau County police, James J. Vollaro, 58, entered Maria Regina Church on Jerusalem Avenue and removed sacramentals from the altar.

Upon investigation, he was arrested on Wednesday and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, police said.

He was issued a desk appearance ticket returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on Oct. 21, police said.
