Joe Salerno Proposes to Janine Kelly at Installation Dinner

Valentine's Day love is already in the air.

Joe Salerno, who's been dating Janine Kelly for seven years, got down on one knee and popped the question at Friday's East Meadow Chamber of Commerce installation dinner at Chateu Briand.

"I had absolutely no idea," Kelly said. "I don't even know what to say right now."

Kelly was already being honored by the Chamber as the 2011 Person of the Year. After she posed for photos with members of the chamber, she took photos with Salerno, who followed by asking Kelly to marry him.

"She's been the woman of the year in my life for the past seven years," Salerno said. "It seemed like a no-brainer to do this tonight."

Kelly is a past president with the chamber, and she has her own chiropractic practice. She said she was honored to be named person of the year.

"Thank you everyone for all your support," she said. "You are all such an important part of my life."
