Man Assaulted Trooper, Nurse After DWI Arrest: Police
The 38-year-old became combative and assaulted a trooper and an emergency room nurse at a Nassau hospital Saturday, police say.

EAST MEADOW, NY – A 38-year-old man faces felony charges after he assaulted a state trooper and a nurse at a Nassau County hospital Saturday, State Police said.
Michael D. Jennings was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow after being arrested for DWI, police said. While he was being medically evaluated, he became combative and assaulted the trooper and an emergency room nurse, police said.
Jennings also attempted to forcibly steal the trooper's taser while the trooper was regaining control of Jennings, police said.

Both the trooper and nurse sustained minor injuries and were treated and released.
Jennings is charged with DWI, two counts of second degree assault and third degree attempted robbery. He was scheduled for arraignment Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
