Police say the man was found by officers a few days later and arrested.
A Westbury man was arrested early this morning and charged with robbing a bagel store earlier this week, Nassau Police said.
According to police, Gerard Conway, 22, of Westbury Avenue, Westbury, entered the Bagel Boss at 43 Old Country Road in Carle Place through the back door at 4:22 a.m. on Jan. 1. POlice say he stole two cash register drawers and then fled the scene.
Police say an investigation identified Conway as the man who robbed the store. Around 4 a.m. on Jan. 3, officers were on a routine patrol when police say they saw Conway on Westbury Avenue near Cherry Lane in Carle Place. Conway was placed under arrest without incident.
