Mother, 2 Children, Struck by Car in Hicksville Critically Injured

The accident occurred Thursday night, police say.

A mother and her two daughters were critically injured when they were struck by a car in Hicksville Thursday night, Nassau Police said.

According to police, a 2003 Honda Accord traveling south on Newbridge Road hit a 42-year-old woman and her two daughters–ages 11 and 4–as the family was crossing Newbridge Road from east to west at Old Country Road around 9:48 p.m.

The woman and children sustained multiple internal injuries, police said. The mother and 4-year-old are listed in critical condition. The 11-year-old is listed in critical, but stable condition.

Police have not released the identities of the victims or of the 39-year-old male driver of the Honda. There is ”no apparent criminality” in the crash at this time, police said.
