Nassau Man Assaulted Hospital Security Guards: Police

Police say he assaulted the guards when they tried to get him to leave.

A Uniondale man was arrested on Saturday after police say he assaulted to security officers outside of a hospital.

According to police, Michael Ammino, 39, of Manor Parkway, was outside Nassau University Medical Center when one of the security guards saw him causing a disturbance near the hospital's Carman Avenue entrance. As two guards tried to escort him off the premise, police say he became combative and punched one of the guards in the face. The second guard tried to subdue him, police said, and both fell to the ground, with the guard getting a cut and substantial pain in his hand.

Police say that both of the guards were able to hold Ammino on the scene until officers arrived and he was placed under arrest.
