Nassau Man Stole From Dealership Where He Worked: Police
Police say he was skimming some of the down payments people put on cars, costing the dealership thousands.

Nassau police arrested a Roosevelt man after they say he scammed car buyers out of thousands of dollars.
According to police, Jose Quiroz, 31, of Whitehouse Avenue, worked at Kia Auto World, located at 2520 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow. Quiroz, a financial representative, would accept down payments from customers for their vehicle purchases. According to police, Quiroz kept a portion of the down payments, dating back to at least November 2017. Kia Auto World reported a loss of more than $20,000.
Quiroz was arrested without incident and charged with four counts of third-degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, eight counts of first-degree falsifying business records, first-degree scheme to defraud and petty larceny. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
