Nearby: Freeport Man Found Shot to Death in Roosevelt

A 21-year-old Freeport man was found shot to death in an alleyway in Roosevelt on Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to Nassau police, a ShotSpotter activation followed by a 911 call brought police to 86 Park Avenue in Roosevely at 4:15 p.m.

Officers found the body of Sayvon Marcus Burt in a nearby alleyway with multiple gunshot wounds. Burt was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
