• MS-13 Gang Leader Sentenced for Knife, Machete Attacks (lilifepolitics.com) — An MS-13 gang leader who lived in East Meadow has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after two brutal 2024 attacks in Hempstead and Uniondale that injured multiple victims. He was arrested at his East Meadow home in 2025 following a joint Nassau police and FBI investigation, and prosecutors say the case is part of a broader crackdown on gang violence. 
• ZZ Top Will Keep Touring After Frank Beard's Death (shark1053.com) — ZZ Top is continuing their tour after drummer Frank Beard's death and has confirmed a stop in East Meadow on September 1 at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre. The band says this run honors Beard's wishes to keep the music going, giving local fans a chance to see the classic rock group live soon.
