Richard Sherman's Elbow Sprain Won't Sideline Him at Super Bowl
The Seattle Seahawk's Richard Sherman is not likely to be sidelined for the Super Bowl.

Sprains, generally speaking, involve the tearing or stretching of the ligaments.
“Normally with a sprain of the elbow, the first thing is to rest the injured player and give it a chance to calm down,” says Randy Cohn, MD, orthopedic surgeon at the North Shore-LIJ Health System. “We use ice and anti-inflammatory medications to help with that and we get them started moving their elbow relatively quickly. Elbows get stiff pretty much in a couple of days if they’re immobilized.”

Dr. Cohn thinks Mr. Sherman is likely to play in the Super Bowl because he continued to play after he was injured on Sunday.
