Teen Duo Burglarized Multiple Nassau Smoke Shops: Police
Police say the two broke into smoke shops seven times in a month.

Nassau County Police arrested two teens they say burglarized multiple smoke shops in East Meadow and Massapequa over the last month.
According to police, Uzair Khan, 18, of Bette Road, East Meadow, and Matthew Hartenstein, 19, of Kings Highway, Brooklyn, broke into the E-Smoke Shop at 2174 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow in the early morning hours of Jan. 25. Police say the two stole multiple nicotine and CBD products.
Detectives investigated and identified the two as the burglars, police said. Khan was arrested on Jan. 29 in East Meadow, and Hartenstein was arrested on Jan. 30 in Massapequa.

Police say that the investigation determined the two were also responsible for the following burglaries:
- Dec. 8, 2019: Pipes/Stuff Smoke Shop, 2384 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow
- Dec. 12, 2019: E-Smoke Shop, 2384 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow
- Dec. 29, 2019: Twisted Smoke Shop, 347 Merrick Ave., East Meadow
- Jan. 5, 2020: Twisted Smoke Shop, 347 Merrick Ave., East Meadow
- Jan. 12, 2020: Arturo Smoke Shop, 5632 Merrick Road, Massapequa
- Jan. 28, 2020: Arturo Smoke Shop, 5632 Merrick Road, Massapequa
Khan and Hartenstein were both charged with seven counts of third-degree burglary. They are scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.
