102 Year Old Resident of Bristal Assisted Living Community Celebrates Her Birthday With Lunch at White Castle

Madeleine Turpan was inducted into the White Castle "Cravers Hall of Fame" at her celebration

Madeleine Turpan a resident of the Bristal assisted Living Community in Massapequa celebrated her 102nd birthday today in a most unique way. She and her extended family including nieces, nephews, grand nephews, grand nieces, great grand nephews and great grandnieces and some fellow residents of the Bristal got together for lunch at White Castle, where Ms. Turpan was inducted into their “Cravers Hall of Fame”.

Madeleine, who worked as a dietician at the Top of the Sixes Restaurant for many years, says she has been eating at White Castles for over 80-years. Her nephew Gene, who visits her regularly at the Bristal, says he takes her to White Castle at least once a month.

Ms. Turpan, who has resided at the Bristal of Massapequa since 2006, received her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Queens College in 1987 when she was 75 years young. Predeceased by two husbands, Jack Turpan who she was married to for more than thirty years, and Len Gordon who she was married to for over twenty years until his passing in 2005, Madeleine says in addition to enjoying fast food she also enjoys a glass of red wine with her dinner on an almost daily basis.
