FARMINGDALE, NY — Burgerology officially cut the ribbon of its Farmingdale expansion on Monday afternoon, marking its grand opening. The new addition to the village, at 247 Main Street, opened in January.

After the ribbon was cut and citations were handed out, applause broke out among those gathered for the ceremony.

"Thank you, we're happy to be here," Georgia Galatoulas, Burgerology co-owner, said.

Work on the eatery was done in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, and a lot of steel, supplies, wood, and labor went into the renovation, said Joseph Garcia, president of Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce.

"Everything was short, and I know it's not easy," Garcia said. "So thank you for choosing Farmingdale. Thank you for expanding your burger empire here."

The restaurant serves gourmet burgers — including a build-your-own option — tacos, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken sandwiches, appetizers, desserts and more. Deluxe milkshakes are also available.

"We created Burgerology because we know you want, and deserve a high-quality craft burger," the Burgerology website reads. "We're not a place that does burgers on the side. We do burgers, and we do burgers well! We experiment (#burgerscience) with flavors pushing the limits, and never stop until it's perfect. We don't want to be the only burger you eat. We want to be the best burgers you eat!"

The burger names and restaurants' decor reflect scientific and business luminaries such as Alfred Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and John D. Rockefeller.

"We're so happy to have you here," Tom Hand, Town of Oyster Bay councilman, said. "Your product speaks for itself. USDA Prime. It's a great place, great shakes, great atmosphere."
