Police ID Man Killed in East Farmingdale Crash
The accident occurred early Wednesday morning, police say.

Suffolk County Police are investigating a crash that killed a man in East Farmingdale Wednesday morning.
Police say Joshua Hoffman was driving a 1999 Saturn westbound on Route 109 at approximately 5 a.m. when his car struck an 18-wheeler Mack truck traveling east on Route 109 and overturned. The driver of the truck, William Gustafson, was attempting to make a left onto Bi-County Boulevard.
Hoffman, 34, of West Babylon, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Gustafson, 43, of Lititz, Pennsylvania, was not injured, police said.

The Saturn was impounded for a safety check. Motor Carrier Safety Section officers responded for a safety check of the truck, according to police.
The investigation is continuing, police said.
