Police Seek Man Who Tried to Steal From Walmart
Incident occurred last month in Centereach.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the man pictured above who they say attempted to steal merchandise from a Centereach store last month.
Police say a man walked into the Walmart, located at 161 Centereach Mall, on Nov. 25 and placed video game equipment and a cosmetics gift box into a shopping bag.
When the man attempted to exit the store without paying for the items, a security guard grabbed the bag from him, but the suspect got away and fled in a gray or silver minivan with Pennsylvania license plates, police say.

The suspect is described as an 18-to 25-year-old black male, with a heavy build. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and light-colored cargo pants at the time of the incident, police say.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
