Coronavirus: Farmingdale Fragrance-Maker Lays Off 63 Workers
The employees were laid off earlier in the month because of the new coronavirus, as the company cited a "temporary plant layoff."

FARMINGDALE, NY — Orlandi, Inc., a fragrance-manufacturer based in Farmingdale, laid off 63 employees earlier this month due to the new coronavirus. The layoffs came March 16, and are "temporary," according to details filed with the New York State Department of Labor.
Orlandi cited "unforeseeable business circumstances prompted by COVID-19" as the reason for the layoffs.

The perfume-maker is located at 131 Executive Boulevard, Farmingdale. A call to the company by Patch was not immediately returned, though the answering machine stated staff is working remotely after Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered all "non-essential" employees to work home. The information was posted to the Department of Labor website Thursday.
