Farmingdale High School Is Bursting With Spirit
The school won the Best High School Spirit On Long Island award.

FARMINGDALE, NY - From Farmingdale School District: Once again, the Dalers have proved their exceptional pride in their school—winning the Best High School Spirit on Long Island award in Bethpage’s 2018 Best of Long Island contest. The Farmingdale School District most recently received the award in 2014.
In Farmingdale, school spirit is more than thoughts, pep rallies, and green and white attire. The actions and intentions of the school community exemplify what it truly means to be a Daler. Students know that an optimistic spirit and good behavior is key to presenting their school in a positive light, and this win is particularly rewarding for those who work so hard to make the school a progressive learning environment.
"Our school community is one that is passionate in every way about what it means to be a Daler. We are truly proud and gritty in all the best ways!” said Principal Samuel Thompson.

The Bethpage Best of Long Island contest is a roadmap to the best, top-notch businesses and services throughout both Nassau and Suffolk counties, chosen by residents and patrons. Winners were selected from more than 900,000 community votes cast for almost 60,000 nominees.
Alayna Camisa, who serves as the school mascot, summed up the student perspective on the win, saying, “Farmingdale being voted the best school spirit is no surprise to me. Our school is always hyped up for fellow classmates to go above and beyond and to excel in the activities that they are involved in. We have great teachers, coaches, and staff that motivate and teach us to do the best we can. We are proud to be Dalers, and once a Daler always a Daler.”
