Farmingdale High School Graduation 2017

Farmingdale High School recently hosted commencement for the Class of 2017.

During the ceremony on Tuesday, valedictorian Samuel Croes, salutatorian Hamza Malick and class president Nicolena Spadalik inspired their fellow students to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals.

The event, held at Hofstra University, honored the graduating senior class and acknowledge the students’ successes while at Farmingdale High School.

"The Class of 2017 embodies the character and achievement for which the Farmingdale School District is known,” John Lorentz, Farmingdale School District Superintendent of Schools said. "Every student made a positive impact during their time at Farmingdale High School, and we are pleased to honor each of them for their tremendous accomplishments."

Each student was handed their diploma one by one, giving family and friends a chance to take photos during this proud moment.

During the ceremony, the principal of Farmingdale High School and other members of the Farmingdale School District staff shared stories and anecdotes about the Class of 2017.

“The Class of 2017 raised the bar in the classroom, on the athletic fields and within the Farmingdale community, setting a new standard of excellence for future generations,” said Dr. Samuel Thompson, Farmingdale High School Principal said. "Everyone within the Farmingdale School District looks forward to following the futures of the Class of 2017 and celebrating the many accomplishments they still have in store."
