Farmingdale State College Ranked Among Best Value Colleges
The college was ranked among the top 24 percent of nearly 700 schools reviewed in a Forbes poll.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A new Forbes poll of “Best Value Colleges” placed Farmingdale State College in the top 24 percent of the nearly 700 colleges and universities reviewed for the poll, the school announced via press release. Only 300 schools were actually ranked. Farmingdale State College was ranked at #152.
Both public and private colleges and universities that offer four-year degrees, across all 50 states, were included in the list.
Farmingdale placed high in six areas: quality, net price, net debt, alumni earnings, timely graduation and access for low-income students. FSC's ranking was tops among SUNY colleges of technology, and second among all SUNY Long Island schools.

The survey also considered average federal debt load per student. Farmingdale students graduate with an average indebtedness of $16,000, compared to SUNY’s $23,000 - $25,000 average.
The survey revealed 94 percent of baccalaureate degree recipients are employed and/or continuing their education within six months of graduation. Of that group, 73 percent are working full-time and 95 percent are working in Metro New York, with the majority (82 percent) working on Long Island.

Also, 71 percent of employed respondents are working in a new job related to their degree or
continuing in a related job. And 58 percent earn between $40,000 - $60,000.
According to the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard/Department of Treasury, the average income of former Farmingdale students 10 years after enrolling is $53,500, which is 56 percent higher than the national median.
