GoFundMe Started To Help Family Of Man Who Died Of Drug Overdose
After the 23-year-old died on Dec. 8, his best friend started the fundraiser on behalf of his family.

FARMINGDALE, NY - A fundraising campaign was started to help the family of a Farmingdale man who died last week from a drug overdose.
Jon Sindicic started a GoFundMe page on behalf of the family of Lucas Sall, who passed away on Dec. 8 at 23-years-old.
"This week I lost my best friend to a heroin overdose," his wrote on the page. "I met Lucas when we were in the same 1st grade class and after that we were pretty much inseparable. Whether you were laughing with him, or laughing at him he didn’t really care."

Sindicic also wrote on the page that Sall was trying to get sober and always talked about his plans to get clean for good.
"This week he lost that fight and the drugs took away my best friend forever," he wrote. "With that being said, I truly believe his spirit is in a better place now where he doesn’t have to struggle anymore."

He decided to start the page to help Sall's mother pay for his funeral arrangements. A wake is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday at the McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home in Farmingdale.
"Nothing will ever replace the void in her heart that she will have for the rest of her life," Sindicic wrote. "But, any money that is donated on this page will go directly to her in aiding the costs of a wake, and funeral arrangements."
The goal on the page is to raise a total of $5,000. In just two days, the campaign has already raised a total of $3,270.
"He found joy out of making people happy," Sindicic wrote. "It’s still very surreal to me that my best friend is gone. It still doesn’t even feel real to me."
