FARMINGDALE, NY — Nutty Offshore, an outdoor Biergarten, had its grand opening on Friday. The Biergarten is an extension of The Nutty Irishman, a bar at 323 Main St.

"We're very happy with the concept and how things came out," Joe Fortuna, the owner, said. "Everyone loves to be outside in the summertime. Being landlocked, we have to be creative in what we can do."

The Nutty Irishman Biergarten will serve as a place for people to listen to live music, drink craft beers and eat summertime and German fare while basking in the elements.

A wooden fence was built, trees and plants were placed, the building was repainted, the dumpster was moved, and the bar was opened up to all sides.

Summer will feature a beach-type menu with fish, fried shrimp and fried clams. German fare will be served during the fall Oktoberfest season along with German beers. The menu currently includes burgers, sandwiches, salads, tacos, and other items from The Nutty Irishman menu, which was recently revamped.
