The plane crashed at the end of a runway at a Virginia airport Tuesday morning.

A plane bound for Long Island crashed Tuesday morning at a Virginia airport, killing the pilot, the sole person onboard, according to published reported.
The single-engine plane crashed at the end of the runway at Chesapeake Regional Airport around 7:30 a.m. It was headed to Republic Airport in Farmingdale, WTKR in Virginia reported.
The plane caught on fire after the crash.

The pilot, who had not yet been identified, flew from New York to Chesapeake on May 15, according to a WAVY report.
