Would-Be Robber Flees Nassau Store Without Money: Police

Police are searching for the man, who pulled a knife on a store clerk before fleeing without the money.

Nassau police are investigating an attempted robbery that happened in Farmingdale early Tuesday morning.

According to police, a 60-year-old man was working as a cashier at 7-Eleven, located at 150 Main St., at 2:30 a.m. A man entered the store, picked up several items and approached the checkout counter. Police say the man then pulled out a six-inch knife and demanded the employee open the register.

However, something spooked the would-be robber, and he fled the store without any money. It's unclear what caused him to flee. Police say he was last seen on foot heading south on Main Street.

The robber was a stocky man, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, wearing a blue hoodie, dark pants and gloves.
