#70 - Eat and Sing at Woodmere's Press
New restaurant lets customers do the entertaining.
Step into the spotlight at Press, Woodmere’s newest restaurant and bar, which hosts karaoke and open mic nights.
Beat the midweek blues with karaoke on Wednesdays. Accompanied by background music and lyrics, it’s a fun way to let your hair down. For more adventurous performers, bring an instrument or sing a cappella at open mic night on Fridays.
There’s always something interesting going on at Press, such as regularly scheduled deejays, ladies' night, dance parties, football specials and Thursday’s “martini and panini” night. Its official website will be launching soon. Meanwhile, you can find information on Facebook.

Besides all the special events, Press is mostly known for its food — Italian-influenced dishes like thin crust pizzas, pastas, salads, appetizers, entrees and nightly specials. A couple of notable choices are octopus salad with citrus vinagarette or the open steak sandwich covered in sautéed mushrooms and horseradish sauce.
Press, which opened in May, has a cool Manhattan type of atmosphere that owner Alfonso Nappi Jr. calls “a nice chill spot.” It’s a good place to stop for a meal, a cocktail or to belt out a song.
