Cops: Man Loses Control of Motorcycle, Fractures Skull on 878 Ramp

Man listed in critical but stable condition after Sunday night crash, cops said.

A man is in critical but stable condition after losing control of his motorcycle in the Five Towns Sunday night, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives said the 38-year-old was riding his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle east on Seagrit Boulevard at 7:15 p.m. when the crash occurred. He had just entered the north ramp onto Nassau Expressway when he struck a curb and lost control of the motorcycle, cops said.

He was airlifted to a nearby hospital by a Nassau County Aviation Unit with multiple facial and skull fractures, police said. As of Monday afternoon, he was listed in critical but stable condition, detectives confirmed.

Detectives said they do not suspect any criminality. The motorcycle was impounded for brake and safety checks.
