G.W. Hewlett High School Makes List of Top 100 High Schools in New York
Niche.com ranked the best public high schools in New York.

In a recently released report, Niche.com named G.W. Hewlett High School as the 52nd best public high school in New York.
The website evaluated schools based on key statistics, as well as parent and student reviews. Hewlett High School received an overall grade of an “A+” from Niche.
According to the report, the school received an “A+” for educational outcomes, extracurriculars, and teachers, an “A” for academics, administration & policies, food, and sports & fitness, an “A-” for resources and facilities, and a “B+” for health & safety.

The school’s lowest grade – a “B” rating – came in student culture & diversity.
“Overall, this school is great and offers great options for its students,” one student commented. “In comparison to other schools, there are so many more choices and opportunities in regards to courses offered, clubs, sports, extra help and more. I would certainly choose this school again because I feel that it is giving me all the right tools that I need to succeed in life.”

The website used a detailed set of methods to rank 14,431 public high schools across the country and collected 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 students and parents.
According to Niche.com, a high overall ranking includes the following criteria:
- Students are very happy with their experience in all aspects including academics, teachers, health, safety, resources, facilities, extracurriculars, sports, and fitness;
- District schools are exceptional academic institutions in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes;
- District schools are made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture;
- Students are actively involved in a variety of extracurriculars and sports the district offers.
