Loaded Gun Recovered From Vehicle In Hewlett ; 2 Men Charged: Police

Both men face a charge of criminal possession of a firearm, according to Nassau police.

HEWLETT, NY — Two men were arrested in Hewlett on Monday night after a loaded handgun was discovered in a vehicle, police said.

During a routine patrol at the intersection of Mill Road and West Broadway, officers approached a white Nissan Altima committing multiple vehicle and traffic infractions, police said.

An investigation led to the recovering of a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic gun, a loaded magazine and loose ammunition, detectives said.

Alfred Thomas and Nakeem Delisle, of Queens, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm and multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Thomas and Delisle were expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, according to police.
