Man Hit Sanitation Worker With Car, Drove Away: Police
Police say the worker was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was arrested later in the day.

A Queens man was arrested on Thursday after police say he hit a Valley Stream sanitation worker with his car and drove off.
According to police, Andy Jean-Pierre, 25, of 99th Avenue, Queens Village, was driving a 2015 Scion north on South Waldinger Street at 9:20 a.m. when he hit a Valley Stream sanitation worker at the intersection of Buscher Avenue. Police say Jean-Pierre drove away. The 29-year-old sanitation worker was taken to a hospital for treatment of an arm and hand injury.
After an investigation, police say they arrested Jean-Pierre without incident. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury.
