VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Valley Stream man was sentenced to three years probation, ending a protracted dispute between him and a next-door neighbor, who alleged racial harassment, Newsday reported.

John McEneaney, 58, pled guilty to criminal mischief and was required to complete an online anti-racism class, the article said.

The neighbor, Jennifer McLeggan, a nurse and single mother, claimed McEneaney would throw dog feces and dead squirrels in her yard. She installed a surveillance camera and caught her neighbor in the act.

"The whole thing is messed up," McEneaney said after the sentencing, according to Newsday.
