Nassau Police Aiding In NYPD Manhunt In Cedarhurst
Many streets, businesses and schools in the area are on lockdown, people say, as police comb the streets for a man who may be armed.
UPDATE, NOON: The Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway has posted on Twitter that the building is reopened after the school was told by police that it was safe to do so.
Nassau police sources also said that other schools in the area are coming out of their lockdown as well.

ORIGINAL STORY: Nassau police are assisting the NYPD in a manhunt that has spilled into Cedarhurst, causing many business and schools to be put on lockdown.
According to Nassau police, the NYPD was searching for a suspect, and that search entered into Cedarhurst. The NYPD is now assisting in the search.

Some people in the area say they heard the man was armed, but that could not be confirmed. Nassau police said they had no reports of shots being fired, either.
Many people in the area have taken to social media to talk about the incident. Helicopters can be seen flying overhead, and police officers have closed off roads in the area. People also say that schools and businesses in the area are in lockdown.
