Pair Charged With Stealing From Multiple Stores: Nassau Police

Police say the two from Brooklyn robbed multiple stores, most in the same mall, over a period of a few days.

Two Brooklyn men were arrested on Saturday after police say it was determined they were robbing stores in the Green Acres Mall.

According to police, officers responded to a larceny call at the Old Navy inside Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream just before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, they were told that two men had stolen merchandise from the store.

A short time later, police located Michael Robins, 64, and Eric Burnwell, 52, both of the same address on Linwood Street. The two were arrested.

Police say that an investigation determined that the two had stolen from stores in Green Acres Mall multiple times over the last few days. Police say they were responsible for the following larcenies:

  • Feb. 1: Old Navy-1093 Green Acres Mall, Valley Stream.
  • Feb. 7: Old Navy-2034 Green Acres Road, Valley Stream.
  • Feb. 9: Bath and Body Works-1100 Green Acres Mall, Valley Stream.

Robins is charged with grand larceny and three counts of petty larceny. Burwell is charged with grand larceny and two counts of petty larceny. They were both arraigned on Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
