Teen Shot While Walking In Nassau

Police are looking for the person who shot a 17-year-old in the leg in Hempstead Saturday night.

According to police, the 17-year-old was walking with his friends near Martin Luther King Drive when they heard gunshots. The teen realized he had been shot in the leg. He was able to run from the scene and into a local deli, where he fell to the floor. People called 911 and the Hempstead Police responded to the scene. The teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
