Trio Face Substance Charges After Hewlett Traffic Stop: Police

The traffic stop took place just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Peninsula Boulevard, police say.

HEWLETT, NY. — Two men and a woman are facing controlled substance charges Monday after they were found in possession of what police believed to be crack cocaine and heroin in a traffic stop Sunday just after 3:30 p.m.

Nassau County police said Monday morning that 28-year-old Louis Wilson, 36-year-old Hasheem Foster and 33-year-old Ana Bonilla were driving traveling south on Peninsula Boulevard Sunday afternoon in a Nissan Altima. Police initiated a traffic stop after observing the Altima changing lanes unsafely, police said.

Upon investigation, Wilson, the driver, was found in possession of a pair of substances police believed to be crack cocaine and heroin, police said. Foster and Bonilla, meanwhile, were also found in possession of substances police believed to be crack cocaine and heroin, police said. Additionally, police said Bonilla initially gave fake information to the officers regarding her name.

Upon further investigation, police said they found Wilson and Bonilla had committed larceny at a Long Beach Road Ulta Beauty location earlier the same day.

Foster now faces six counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a fourth-degree count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree count of the same charge, and a a charge of tampering with physical evidence, police said.

Wilson, meanwhile, faces a fourth-degree grand larceny charge and six counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with one fourth-degree and one third-degree count of the same charge, police said. Wilson also faces a charge of tampering with physical evidence and multiple traffic violations, police said.

Bonilla faces a fourth-degree charge of grand larceny, six seventh-degree counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one charge of false personation, police said. Bonilla was given a Feb. 9 return ticket, while Wilson and Foster’s arraignments were scheduled for Monday, police said.
