The Police Department informed us that the number of reported cases of theft from a car is surging throughout the County. Most of us don’t think about car theft prevention until it’s too late. But the fact is, protecting yourself against car theft is simple.

Don’t be the next victim. Here are several simple steps that everyone should follow.

• Always lock your car doors even if parked in your driveway. This is the number 1 solution to prevent car theft.
• Never leave the keys or any valuables inside the vehicle, even in your driveway.
• Park in a well-lit area whenever possible.
• If you see something, say something. Do not hesitate to report any suspicious activity to 911.
