Fugitive From Forest Hills Extradited From Canada

Faces Charges of Stealing Over $2 Million From State

After a four-year, international manhunt, a fugitive from Forest Hills was extradited to Queens from Canada last week for allegedly stealing more than $2 million from New York State.

Boris Michaelov (aka Micahelov), who used to live on 108th St., was brought into Queens Supreme Court in handcuffs on June 3 for failing to report roughly $2.3 million in state sales taxes.

An Israeli native who allegedly fled to Toronto in 2007, Michaelov, 43, now faces up to 25 years in prison. He is accused of failing to report as much as $28 million in taxable retail sales of about 3,000 used cars between Dec. 1, 2001, and May 31, 2005, from two Long Island car dealerships – Bill Johnson Auto Sales and Lefferts Auto Sales – on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.
