Police Update Search For Livery Cab Assailant
Shawn Peace, 22, being sought by police for questioning in shooting.

Police have made an update to a request for public assistance with regard to the shooting of a livery cab driver in South Ozone Park.
On Dec. 3 at 8:05 p.m., police responded to a 911 call at the corner of 122 Street and Sutter Avenue. When they arrived, they found Trevor Bell, 53, a livery cab driver, had been shot in the neck and back behind the wheel of his cab.
According to published reports, Bell had been working an extra shift late Friday night to earn extra money for the holidays when he was assaulted by a 20-year-old man, roughly 6 feet tall, shown in the passenger seat in the video at right.

Bell was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he is still listed in critical condition and is reportedly fighting for his life.
Wednesday night, police announced they were looking for 22-year-old Shawn Peace for questioning in the incident. Police believe Peace may be part of a gang that has been perpetrating cab robberies and muggings across the borough.
