$20,000 Offered For Info On Nassau Woman's Hit-And-Run Death

Cathy Lima was hit by a car while crossing a road in January, and police are still looking for her killer.

Nassau police are still looking for the person who ran over a woman crossing the road in January, and now a private group is offering $20,000 for info leading to her killer's arrest.

Police say that Catarina "Cathy" Lima was crossing Nassau Boulevard, near 7th Street, in Garden City Park around 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 30. Lima was hit by a car that drove away north on Marcus Avenue.

Lima, 72, of Garden City Park, was rushed to a nearby hospital for multiple traumatic injuries, but died shortly after she arrived.

In an effort to help find her killer, police say an independent group is offering $20,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the driver.

Nassau police are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run, or who can identify the driver, to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous.
