Adelphi Field Hockey to Volunteer for Free LIFHA Clinic on Sep. 23

Panthers give back to young Long Island field hockey players.

The Adelphi University field hockey team and head coach Gloria O'Connor will host a free clinic for the Long Island Field Hockey Association (LIFHA) on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Motamed Field.

The annual event gives the team a chance to give back to the community while the attendees benefit from instruction from one of the area's top Division II teams.

The Panthers will host 350 girls ages 7-14 from club teams from all over Long Island. The clinic will consist of an exhibition game featuring the Adelphi field hockey team, as well as instructional drills and competition against other club teams.

"This is something we look forward to every year," O'Connor said. "Our entire staff and players have done a wonderful job with this clinic the past four years and they really enjoy giving back to the field hockey community of Long Island."

Players interested in attending should contact Coach O'Connor by email (goconnor@adelphi.edu) or by phone (516-877-3947). For additional information about LIFHA, visit www.eteamz.com/lifha or contact LIFHA president Carol Nesdill (516-316-6031).

The Panthers play their final home game of the month on Saturday, Sept. 22, when they take on Bentley University at 2 p.m.
