Speaking from the David S. Mack Center in Garden City, he urged people to stay off roads, avoid driving through floodwaters, move cars to higher ground, and prepare for possible power outages as high tides return.
   

• Nation's second-longest high school football winning streak comes to an end (usatoday.com) — Garden City's high school football team currently holds the nation's longest winning streak at 68 games, putting the Trojans in a national spotlight. Their next big test is against Massapequa, which brings its own 25-game streak after a weather-related reschedule. Local fans can watch to see if Garden City's remarkable run continues.
