The Container Store Set to Open in E. Garden City

The Container Store will hold its grand opening this weekend at the brand new Westbury Plaza in East Garden City.

The store will celebrate its grand opening by giving away prizes every hour, on the hour, according to its website.

The chain's website also states that 10 percent of its opening weekend sales will go to the Women's Fund of Long Island.

Newsday [paid link] had reported:

If its first Long Island location does better than expected, the company will look to open another, Kip Tindell, [chief executive and chairman of The Container Store] said. The company is very selective about where it sets up shop; it took about 12 years to find the new Long Island location.

According to its website, The Container Store specializes in selling products that "help customers save space and, ultimately, save them time."
