Cops: Woman Stole Wallets from Coat Room at LICM
Hauppauge woman took cash and credit cards at Long Island Children's Museum in East Garden City Monday, cops said.

A Suffolk County woman rifled through belongings in search of money in a coat room at Long Island Children’s Museum, according to Nassau County Police.
Detectives said Mary Elliott, 50, of Hauppauge, was visiting the museum at 2:40 p.m. Monday when she entered the self-serve coat check room. Elliott rifled through coats, pocketbooks, and bags and took wallets containing cash and credit cards, cops said.
An investigation led authorities to Elliott, who was found at her home Tuesday and was taken into custody, police said.
