Man stole cash and cigarettes from Westbury gas station Monday night, police said.

A masked man with a gun held up a Westbury Hess Station Monday night, according to Nassau County Police.

At 9:14 p.m., a man approached an employee at the Old Country Road gas station and demanded money while brandishing a silver handgun, cops said. The 36-year-old employee cooperated and the subject fled with cash and several packs of cigarettes, police said.

The subject was 5-foot-11 to 6-foot, thin build, and was wearing dark clothing and a black mask at the time. He escaped on foot in an unknown direction.

No one was reportedly injured and no customers were present at the time of the robbery.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
