Dance Movement Therapy Professional Development Workshop!

Suzi Tortora Ed.D., BC-DMT, CMA, LCAT, LMHC

will teach the use of age appropriate movement, dance and play activities that support the attachment relationship while enhancing physical, cognitive, communicative and social/emotional development. Attachment Theory and current neuroscience as it relates to the relationship of mind-body-emotion will be explicated. The Ways of Seeing treatment program supports typical and special needs infants, children and their families including developmental issues, sensory processing and regulatory difficulties, autism/PDD, ADD/ADHD, trauma and medically ill children. Participants will learn through lecture, discussion, video analysis, worksheets, Ways of Seeing and LMA- derived nonverbal observation, individual, dyadic and small group experiential participation including both directed activities and improvisation.
