Driver Arrested After Illegal Gun Found In His Car: Police

Police say they pulled him over for speeding, and found the gun while investigating.

A Uniondale man was arrested Friday evening after police say officers found an illegal gun in his car during a traffic stop.

According to police, officers saw a gray Nissan Sentra heading north on Nassau Road in Uniondale just before 6 p.m. Police say the car was speeding and changing lanes without signaling. Officers pulled the car over, and during the investigation, police say they recovered a handgun from the center console, along with what they believed to be marijuana.

The driver, Joshua Davis-Daniels, 21, of Gilroy Avenue, was arrested without incident.

Davis Daniels is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, speeding and failure to signal. he was arraigned on Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
