Lego Robotics, Intro and Advanced

Robots are Here for the Summer!

Garden City School District is offering the Lego Robotics classes for Summer Enrichment. The class was first offered during Winter Enrichment and was very successful.  This Summer an Advanced level will be added for children who participated in the Winter program.  Both Introduction and Advanced classes are open to Grades 4,5, and 6.

The class follows the state-of-the-art Carnegie Mellon "C" programming curriculum and will enable students to build a Lego Mindstorms Robot.   Groups of four children will get to collaborate, design, build and program their Robot.  These teams of four will put their Robot through obstacle courses with the guidance of a teacher experienced in Robotics, and a student aide .

This sought-after program combines Science, Technology, Engineering and Fun!  Children from the Winter program gave it rave reviews.  Schools all  over the country are participating in similar programs.  Robotics technology is the future and it's happening right here in Garden City School District.

The class will take place from 9am-12pm for one week.  Introduction level will be offered during the weeks of July 2nd, and July 9th;  Advanced level will be offered during the weeks of July 16th and July 23rd. Registration forms are available on the GC School District website:  www.gardencity.k12.ny.us/.   For more information call Mr. Joseph Papa at 516 478-1540 or email: Summerenrichment@gcufsd.net.
